Sweet Rice
Delectable and stomach satiating Sweet rice is one of the most popular desserts prepared during various festivals in India. The preparation of Sweet rice is not just common in the celebrations of the Muslim festivals in the country but this dish is prepared by people of diverse religions as well as castes on various auspicious occasions, related to their own faiths and traditions. This dessert though tastes very nice but takes quite less time to cook and its recipe is absolutely uncomplicated. This dessert can be cooked by even a novice to the culinary world. Given below are simple steps, using which you can cook this wonderful dessert.
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp Ghee
- 3 Cardamom, Cloves, cinnamon
- 50 gms Dry fruits (chopped)
- 2 gms Saffron
- 400 gms Basmati Rice
- 2 cup Sugar
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 tsp Raisins
Preparation:
- First heat ghee in a vessel, add bay leaves, cardamom and cinnamon to it.
- Then add rice to mixture and fry, next add water, sugar and dry fruits to the vessel.
- Cover the vessel properly, so that the steam does not escape and let the mixture cook completely.
- If required add little water, cover and cook for some more time.
- Finally add saffron dissolved in 1tsp of milk, in to the dish and mix well before serving.
